I really hope we get the oportunity to watch some of these races. The level 1 exams are 18th - 21st Feb so we should be ready for a party!

Very cool. Very, very cool. I hear that Bodi Miller is a tad fond of his drink so we might get to rub shoulders with them while we're out celebrating/drowning sorrows.

As for trying out the race course, Richard, you're a nutter. I think you'll be hearing the words 'after you' alot on this trip Wink

At the risk of repeating myself......82 days!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

would have to go and hire some long skis (please let somewhere in Whistler have some atomic GS skis for rental in a 200 odd length to rent....)

would definatly be putting in a hell of a lot more turns though!
Have attempted SL and GS before, but the idea of trying my hand at getting down a down hill course (even if its just going to be doing GS turns) would be too good to miss!

As for being a nutter, come on, give it a try Razz

82 days to go, and only 46 more days of work Very Happy

Richard,
Despite nearly every whistlerite being on at least 80mm+ underfoot, I do remember one shop behind the blackcomb daylodge that was hiring race stock, I remember they had plenty of Fischer RC4's. Also if I remember Atomic do some corporate deal with Interwest, you can demo their ski's from a hut on Whistler mountain (leave your credit card etc) so if you're an Atomic addict you should be well catered for.

Claire - the downhill course is a pretty standard black diamond run, not vastly challenging to free ski.... but at speed, after they've iced it for the race - different matter Razz

Richard - there's a permanent GS run on Blackcomb that anyone can ski, you get your time at the bottom, plenty of opportunity to settle a few scores I would think! Cool

now that sounds like fun. After all, its only the Womens downhill course, how hard could it be Razz

only worrying thing is that its now over a year since ive been near a gate (and the last time i skiied gates i broke my old skis!)

Definatly an Atomic addict for piste skis, so will definatly have to try doing a GS on the propper kit. Im sure it will make all the difference Wink

Ice is fun...
Just need to make sure that your edges are sharp enough to shave with!

Really cant wait to see a real race!
