luggage limit UPDATE!!

I nearly got caught out thinking I could take two pieces of carry on luggage.....

Passengers on flights departing the U.K. are reminded that U.K. authorities allow a single carry-on piece of baggage in the cabin that measures 23cm x 40cm x 55cm. On all other flights, Air Canada allows a maximum of one standard article 23cm x 40cm x 55cm weighing a maximum of 10 kg, and one personal article 16cm x 33cm x 43cm weighing a maximum of 10 kg. More information on Air Canada's carry-on baggage allowance is available at aircanada.com/en/travelinfo/airport/baggage/carry-on.html

And here's a luggage identification label to put in your case.....should the outside label get torn off....

BAA has today urged passengers to double-check airline baggage policies before travelling to its airports once new Government baggage rules come into effect on Monday 7 January.

From Monday, the one-bag restriction will be lifted at six of BAA's seven UK airports (detailed below), with Gatwick following early in 2008. However, a number of airlines will continue to restrict the number of bags which can be carried in to the cabin.

A spokesman for BAA said: "We will be helping to advertise the changes in Government baggage restrictions at our airports, but it is important that passengers check with their airline before travelling as carriers have different policies governing the number of items of hand baggage which may be taken in to the aircraft cabin. To help passengers further, we will also be asking airlines to ensure that passengers clearly understand airline baggage policies at the check-in points, before they pass through security."

Hi, if I read the Air Canada Luggage rules correctly, apart from the cabin luggage, you can take 1 kit bag weight of 23kg AND 1 suit case also weighing 23kg.

I really do hope so 'cos that's what I have already packed for departure on the 7th Jan if those 'nice' people at BAA do not ruin it for me & strike!!!!
