RED MOUNTAIN 11 WEEK - Page 1 of 1 - Post new topic

Snowga?

Hi guys. I've been off the radar for a wee while and just noticed that the Red crew has been rapidly expanding - Happy days! Can't wait to meet you all and hang out for the season!

I've been meaning to ask - Is anyone interested in taking yoga classes while we're there?

I teach vinyasa flow yoga and general hatha and would be happy to organise a couple of classes a week for you lot if you're up for it. I'll suss out venues and see what fits with our course timetable when we get there but it would be good to get an idea of who's interested so a I have an idea of numbers. So post a reply or email me on becblack1@googlemail.com.
Whether you're an experienced yogi or just a snowbum with a hangover and aching muscles in need of a stretch you'll want to add a yoga mat and some lose comfy clothes to your list of things to pack.

Cheers
Bec x

Good idea Bec.
I'll be looking for a Tai Chi class as it helps the balance and the abused joints, but doubt I'll find one in wee Rossland. Done a little yoga (badly) years ago, I may be along Smile

Excellent guys. I like a bit of tai chi myself - we can factor some into class.

Yoga is a great tool to increase joint and muscle flexibility and body balance. Focus will be on the areas of the body where we skiiers and boarders need it the most - ie improving spine flexibility and strength and flexibility in the hips and large core muscles in the legs, butt and abdomen. All vital to develop/maintain the condition needed for skiing and boarding, help prevent injury and improve your balance and strength which will in turn improve your riding /skiing technique. Love it!

I havent been on here in a while and all these new comments has increased my excitement! its so close now.
Yoga sounds brilliant, ive always wanted to try it. I'm not sure what tai chi is exactly but all sounds good to me, anything to reduce the aches!

Hey guys, you can count me in. as i have found out playing on the wii that my balance is not that good, but it is getting better!

Last time i went skiing i was lucky as i did not suffer with any aches or pains, but as that was only for a week. This time it is for soooo much longer than i have ever done!

Only 2 months to go guys! Laughing

I'd be into that for sure.

I'll be joining a gym when we get over there if there are any lifters amongst us as well.

That's a gym in the centre of Rossland.

Anyone know the address of our beds while we're there?
I've been harassing Tori but she hasn't given up the secret yet.

I'm hoping it's close enough to be feasible.

I'm not sure yet what the options are for a venue for yoga classes in Rossland - the local gym may be an option. I will figure it out soon as I'm now in Canada - yey! And there's an outrageous amount of new snow. TF
Dave, about charging for classes - I'm not planning on making any cash out of you guys but I may need to charge to cover my costs if I need to pay to use a space. I'll suss it all out before the course starts and let you all know.
Happy new year!!
x
